I’m learning to ask for what I need, sooner. I’m learning to trust that the needs are just as significant as everyone else’s. I’m learning to trust God sees me as significant and pray with more vulnerability. I’m learning to look for Him in the people who love me, and hold them to a truer standard.
I recently had the thought that when I didnt ask my parents or anyone for help because I could see how hard the struggle was to make it from day to day, my assumption that there were more important things to do,. I denied them the opportunity to say yes or no. I didnt even give them the chance to try.
You also didn’t know better. You were a child experiencing a lot of trauma. Safety was and is the first priority. Once we know better, we can do better. Now, knowing you are safe, you can try new things and give them a chance to try to.
